Family home robbed at midnight
On 17 October a case of house robbery was reported at a complex in Blue Hills. A married couple was sleeping, when, at midnight, someone entered their bedroom and switched on the lights.
Two men, both armed, told the couple to lie down with their hands on their heads and then used shoelaces to tie them up. A third intruder searched the room for valuables while a fourth and fifth went to an adjoining room where the couple’s child was sleeping.
A brown leather jacket, two flat-screen TVs, two laptops, two rings, a watch and five cell phones were stolen during the incident, totalling about R50 000.
Woman burgled while sleeping
A case of burglary was reported on 21 October in Kyalami. A resident was burgled at her home while she slept.
When she woke up the next morning, she discovered that her home alarm system had been disabled and a door to her property had been forced open.
A coffee machine and a kettle, worth about R12 000, were taken during the incident and no suspects have been identified.
