Make your child a ‘Sustainable Living Superhero’ with the GardenShop!

You can #WIN incredible prizes and an opportunity to donate a veggie garden to an underprivileged school when participating in the Jabu and the Beanstalk competition.

With the GardenShop’s Jabu and the Beanstalk initiative you can teach your child to be a ‘Sustainable Living Superhero’.

Through this fun and impactful campaign, the GardenShop, together with Caxton Local Media Joburg North, aims to encourage children to develop their green-fingers while learning about the importance of doing something good for someone else. Every day, families and communities throughout South Africa are struggling to get even the basics, such as food, into their homes. This is why the GardenShop has made it their mission to raise awareness around sustainable living through growing what you eat. To do this, the GardenShop invites all Sustainable Living Superhero children to take part in the Jabu and the Beanstalk journey! When you spend R150 or more at your local GardenShop, you will receive a lucky-bean and a planting box, which can then be planted and grown for the competition. Winners will be those who manage to show off their green fingers by growing the best Beanstalk before the competition closes on 4 December and, along with winning prizes for themselves, they’ll also win a veggie garden to be donated to an underprivileged schools.

Thereafter, the GardenShop will continue to focus on sowing the seeds of sustainable living, by finding sponsorship partners to assist them in the installation of Community Pavement Gardens in selected areas.
“We joined this initiative alongside the GardenShop to spread awareness to the underprivileged communities, that sustainable living through growing their own food is greatly important. We also believe that the ultimate objective of creating pavement gardens and getting schools involved as part of their outreach initiatives will benefit the underprivileged communities immensely. The campaign in its entirety is an excellent way to get children engaged and involved in a worthy cause,” said Geshika Vorster, marketing coordinator for Caxton Local Media Joburg North.
