SUNNINGHILL – While the residents of nearby houses await for the fire truck's arrival, they are said to be using hose pipes to douse the flames.
A fire is currently burning in Sunninghill on the open land at the corner of Edison Crescent and Kilindini Road.
Ward 93 councillor, Candice James, confirmed to the Fourways Review that she had notified the City’s Region A Emergency Management Services (EMS).

James alleged that there were no available fire trucks at the Lonehill and Midrand fire stations, and therefore they were awaiting a fire truck from Ivory Park to attend to the blaze.
This website’s sister publication, the Midrand Reporter, recently reported on how Ivory Park just recently received a new fire truck which was expected to assist with service delivery.

Meanwhile, as the residents of nearby houses await for the fire truck’s arrival, they are said to be using hose pipes to douse the flames.
The City’s EMS spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi, confirmed that the department was aware of the grass fire and that a fire truck from Sandton was on its way to the scene.

Earlier this afternoon, Paulshof residents reported that a fire had broken out at the Rietfontein Nature Reserve in the suburb. Residents also logged calls with the fire department. At this stage, the extent of the damage is unclear and the Fourways Review will update as soon as more information comes to light.
