Smiles all around
FOURWAYS – Dr Vikash Naidoo has launched the Smile Institute Aesthetic and Training Centre in Fourways in order to both provide and teach cosmetic dentistry to the community.
It was smiles all around as Dr Vikash Naidoo fulfilled a long-time dream of opening up The Smile Institute Aesthetic and Training Centre on 16 May.
The night saw the event hosted at the just-opened space inside the Buzz Shopping Centre off Witkoppen Road in Fourways, with food and drinks available to guests as they explored the space. Robyn Kirk was there to capture all the action.
The dental centre is a facility which offers cosmetic dentistry using a German technology-based technique where a 4D scan visually maps your dental needs before porcelain teeth are manufactured while you wait.
“This space was in the planning stage for a few years, but it was constructed in about six weeks” explained Naidoo.
“Dr Naidoo has also made this a training centre for dentists wishing to learn this skill. Conference facilities with a canteen and conference room are available for medical, dental and beauty (aesthetic) conferences of about 20 people,” explained Dr Nirvana Moethilalh, Naidoo’s wife, at the event.
The centre also plans to offer affordable dental care to the less fortunate. As the institute is a training centre, patients unable to pay full price for the treatment can volunteer as candidates for those being trained in the necessary skills.
“The main goal was to provide state of the art facilities to patients, and also have a place for training health professionals. Another big aim was to provide services to the less fortunate, with training sessions happening two or three times a month, ” Naidoo said.
