Movie lovers watch a film under the stars

FOURWAYS – Celebrities and movie lovers enjoyed a night under the stars during the inaugural Air Movie Nights screening of Five Fingers for Marseilles on 26 April.

Air Movie Nights in collaboration with the Fourways Farmers Market welcomed the public to the screening of Five Fingers for Marseilles at the inaugural edition of Air Movie Nights.

On 26 April, people packed into the original Fourways farmstead for an evening under the stars to enjoy the Western film. The movie told the story of a group of young men (the ‘Five Fingers’) who stood up to brutal police oppression in Marseilles, a town in the rugged badlands of the Eastern Cape.

Following the screening, a question and answer session with stars of the movie Vuyo Dabula, Zethu Dhlomo, Lizwi Vilakazi and Garth Brytenbach commenced. Audiences had the opportunity to question the actors about their intentions behind the film and, in doing so, better understand the film itself.

Air Movie Nights was founded by filmmaker and Youth Achiever Award recipient at the South African Film and Television Awards, Thapelo Mokeana. “Air Movie Nights caters to all those who seek a chilled and entertaining night out. Fourways Farmers Market is a place for family and friends to enjoy a different setting. It is an all-rounder that accommodates everyone who is game for an amazing night under a ceiling of stars,” said Mokeana.
