Fatal accident on Witkoppen Bridge, one motorist airlifted
FOURWAYS – A fatal accident is causing heavy delays in the area after a high-speed accident took place this afternoon, which has seen one motorist airlifted to hospital.

A fatal accident has occurred in the Fourways area this afternoon and reports suggest that a medical helicopter is at the scene.
According to Jean Berdou, chairman of the Douglasdale CPF, “A light motor vehicle was involved in a high-speed accident on William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road.” He added that one person has deceased and another airlifted. Six others remain in critical condition.

“A part of the wing of William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road has been closed as there is a major cleanup operation taking place,” Berdou said.
Traffic is heavily delayed and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
