Douglasdale resident shot and killed in early morning house robbery

DOUGLASDALE – Paramedics found the 55-year-old victim in cardiac arrest at his home but attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

According to a report, the Douglasdale resident who was shot and killed during a house robbery in the early hours of Saturday morning, 18 November, was the husband of creative parenting expert, Nikki Bush.

EWN reports that Bush said two perpetrators entered their home at around 3am on Saturday morning. Bush’s sister is reported as saying the family is ‘devastated’.

A Douglasdale resident was shot during a robbery at his home in the early hours of this morning, 18 November.

Netcare911 media liaison, Nick Dollman said the paramedics responded to the reports of a shooting incident at 3.30am at a Douglasdale home and found the man (55) in cardiac arrest.

The Netcare911 paramedics initiated advanced life support resuscitation as per their protocols, Dollman said.

“Tragically the victim had sustained severe injuries and their efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful,” he explained.

“Documentation pertaining to his death was completed by Netcare 911 and handed over to authorities at the scene.”

According to Dollman, no one else was injured during the shooting and robbery.

“The incident and preceding events will form part of  a police investigation.”
