A Fourways domestic worker Gloria Mthunzi has had a rose named after her.

Mthunzi’s employer Vivienne Black entered the Ludwig’s Roses competition, Have a rose named after you.

Black won the competition and she chose to name a rose Gloria after Mthunzi who is also a Hirsch’s Fourways domestic worker of the month finalist.

“Gloria is an inspiration,” said Black. “Not only is she an amazing housekeeper, but she is also excellent at her rose arrangements. She really deserves to have a rose named after her.”

Sharron Dingle, Hirsch’s public relations officer said, “Hirsch’s is all about empowerment and together with Vivienne Black we are encouraging people to go out and buy this awesome pink rose which appears in the Ludwig’s catalogue. “This would be a way of showing appreciation to all housekeepers and helpers that help us make our lives easier.”
