Douglasdale Police Station, in partnership with the Sector 4 Community Policing Forum, launched an informative crime awareness campaign on the corner of Witkoppen and Main roads.
According to the station’s head of communications, Captain Mpho Kgasoane, the aim of the campaign was to create crime awareness and to remind motorists of the importance of being alert and vigilant at all times when driving in Fourways.

Kgaosane said the crime awareness campaign brought car jammings, smash-and-grabs at malls and road safety to light.
“We saw the need for this crime awareness campaign considering the level of crime in the area. We distributed 600 pamphlets to motorists and the response from the public was positive. I would also like to thank the police for their visibility throughout this campaign,” Kgaosane said.
“A crime awareness campaign was also held at Rustika Timber Centre in Douglasdale to raise awareness of theft out of motor vehicles, business robberies and business break-ins.”
