Future City Fourways takes hands with the community

Future City Fourways holds the candle to standing against crime and grime; they are going to new heights to secure social investment and promotion of environmental excellence.

Fourways Crossing recently stepped on board in creating a better, cleaner and safer Fourways. Fourways Crossing general manager Janice Coopoosamy, recently joined the board of directors at Future City Fourways. “We are leaders, not followers in societal upliftment,” she said.

Future City Fourways is a registered non-profit organisation and depends on fellow business owners and homeowners to join hands with them to become financially and emotionally involved in creating an anti-crime, anti-grime environment.

Future City Fourways is currently underway with various projects such as the Witkoppen School upgrade and upgrading the pavement along William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road.

“We will be expanding areas of cleaning at Fourways Crossing, cleaning daily and past Fourways Mall, cleaning three times a week,” said Jean Berdou, Future City Fourways Advocate. He continued by saying they will be making a series of announcements concerning upgrades to the area security, related upgrade and technical rollouts.

“Leaders don’t wait! We call on business owners to be the front runners in joining Future City Fourways to transform Fourways into an anti-crime and anti-grime society,” said Susan Mottram, member of Future City Fourways. She continued by saying that neglected places attract crime and Future City Fourways is about clamping down on crime and grime through the power of community.

A follow-up story will be done on the Witkoppen School upgrade, which involves a new cricket pitch for the schoolchildren, a vegetable garden and a children’s soccer league. “There are other aspects such as fixing broken windows,” added Berdou.
