Accident victims receive bed donation
DIEPSLOOT – Read about a bed donation to an elderly couple.
An elderly couple who suffered losses when a speeding motorist rammed into their home in Diepsloot managed to smile again this week.
Steven Dioane (70) and Betty Mmansika (80) have Fourways Review and Democratic Alliance former councillor in the area, Refilwe Mathebula, to thank after a furniture shop donated a brand-new double bed to them.
The shop owner called Mathebula after reading their story to make a donation. “I am happy that the couple would finally have a decent sleep after their bed was destroyed in the accident,” she said.
The couple was also injured when the speeding motorist lost control of his Mazda truck and ploughed through their shack. They suffered serious injuries and were treated and discharged from Tembisa Hospital last week.
The driver of the truck is still in hospital after being beaten up by members of the public after the accident.
