Fashionistas storm to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

SANDTON – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is a success

 

Fashion enthusiasts came out in their numbers to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Joburg Spring/Summer show at Nelson Mandela Square for four days of runway action.

On 13 August, fashionistas were given first dibs and got to scope out the new designs and concepts brought to the runway.

Fashion week was presented by African Fashion International (AFI) which was established out of an unequivocal determination to propel and restore refined African fashion brands to the global stage.

With African-infused designs seen on the runway, designers showcased their interpretation of this spring and summer.

Day one featured:

  • Colour by Nandi Mngoma and Inga Madyibi
  •  Bulbulia Threads by Tasleem Bulbulia
  • Wake by Pieter Burger
  • Matte Nolim by Siyaethemba Duma
  • Chesney Williams featuring Dj Zinhle
  • Tayla Nguskos featuring Minnie Dlamini
  • Buda Malete featuring Dj Tira.

Day two:

  • Philosophy by Jenni Button
  • Marianne Fassler
  • tefania and Shana Morland
  • NN Vintage by Nhlanhla Nciza.

Day three:

  • Style Avenue by Orapeleng Modutle
  • Scalo by Sello Medupe
  • Ruff Tung by Leigh Schubert
  • MaXhosa by Laduma.

Day four closed off with:
