Know your nominated Top Cop for #TopCop Award

Going beyond the line of duty to serve the community is of utmost importance to public servants and Captain Fritz Kriel bears testimony to this.
“It is an honour to be nominated for Best Vispol Commander and it is good to see that my efforts are being recognised. This nomination puts it out there for other police officers and members to strive to execute their jobs well in order to best serve the community,” he said.

Kriel has been in the police force for 22 years and has served at Douglasdale Police Station for the past three years. “My journey here at the station has given me an opportunity to grow and aim to serve the rich and the poor. We are approached by different people in need of help and it is always a pleasure to serve them and a pleasure that they are able to recognise it,” he said.
Speaking about his experience with the nominated Top Cop Kriel, Colonel Alpheus Mohale said the Best Vispol Commander nominee is a hard-working police officer and is always at work.
Kriel is punctual and willing to assist members of the community and, when given tasks, he never complains and he is also willing to help his co-workers.
Mohale added that Kriel also helps mobilise the community and attends Community Policing Forum (CPF) meetings and sector crime forums. He is always willing to go the extra mile to address crime and community concerns. He is involved in Bridge Town in Bloubosrand, a project to improve the neighbourhood as it was identified that crime is on the rise there due to a total decay of the area.

“It would be an honour to get the prize, as most of it will go to my cost of living. Being nominated for my dedication should not just go to me but my colleagues as well, as I thank and include them in supporting me in executing my job,” Kriel concluded.
