Care for your domestic, care for your appliances

FOURWAYS - Domestic workers wise up with electric appliances.

Domestic workers from around Fourways were taught the crucial art of cleaning appliances at a free monthly domestic training course. at the Hirsch’s Fourways branch.

“We believe in teaching domestic workers how to use home appliances correctly and, moreover, how to clean the appliances. In that way, appliances will last longer and hence save the consumer money,” Nicolene Samigan, Hirsch’s Fourways public relations officer said.

Hirsch’s training course demonstrated how to clean and care for household appliances, from defrosting a freezer, to the use of the different settings on a washing machine and handling a dishwasher correctly. The domestic workers also enjoyed an ironing lesson with demonstrations on the various features of irons.

At the monthly courses, a domestic of the month is announced, and this month’s title went to Nozipho Radebe who won a R300 Hirsch’s voucher as part of the award. She also went into the draw for a R5 000 Hirsch’s voucher which will be announced at the end of the year at the last domestics workshop.

The workshop concluded with an issued certificate of completion to all the attendees.

The next free domestic training workshop will be on 10 June at 9am at Hirsch’s Fourways branch. To RSVP your domestic worker, contact Hirsch’s Fourways public relations officer.
