Experience Italy for a weekend
JOBURG – A weekend to experience Italian lifestyle with no need of a plane ticket.
You are invited to experience great Italian style, passion, food and wine which will be showcased at Montecasino’s Piazza in the all-encompassing Made in Italy festival from 6 to 8 May.
Entrance is free, and the idea behind the spectacular festival is to give visitors the very best that Italy has to offer. “As with all good things in Italy, this is a festival to be savoured slowly,” Glenn Joseph, general manager of Montecasino said.
“Come hungry and spend time with friends and family. It is like that old Italian proverb, ‘First we eat, then we do everything else’.”There will be live cooking demonstrations and tastings with celebrities and renowned chefs such as MasterChef South Africa judge, Benny Masekwameng, and the first winner of Master Chef South Africa, Deena Naidoo.
Various stalls will be offering Italian specialties, such as antipasto, coffee, delectable cheeses, pasta-making, a deli, fragrances and more. And guests will be given a chance to watch a Tuscan village come to life with live entertainment and buskers, all keeping to the Italian theme.
The festival dates and times are 6 May from 4pm to 11pm; 7 May from 10am to 11pm; and 8 May from 10am to 6pm.
There will also be a Ferrari show day which will take over the Outdoor Events Area on the last day of the festival.
