Miss South Africa to embark on her first trip abroad

CEDAR SQUARE - The new Miss South Africa, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, will set off in her first international trip.

The newly-crowned Miss South Africa, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, received a warm bon voyage from her supporters and members of the media at Avalanche Fourways, Cedar Square, on 20 April.

Kunene left for Austria on 22 April for her first trip overseas, as part of the prize she received after being crowned. “I am so excited that I will be going abroad and I have decided that I will take my sister, Zamanyabose Mthethwa, with to experience the whole trip with me,” Kunene said.

Kunene will travel to Neustift, Tyrol, on a luxury skiing holiday sponsored by tour operator, Dreams. The trip was part of the more than R2-million prize package she received.

“I have always wanted to go overseas, but this trip has far exceeded my wildest dreams. Good news is that I have already had some private skiing lessons and cannot wait to hit the slopes,” Kunene expressed.

Erica Barrett, chief executive of Dreams said, “As a long-time partner of the pageant, we understand that this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for every winner and we are honoured to help make Nthando’s special moment even more unique and that is what we do at Dreams – we create memories. Neustift is one of our most elegant ski experiences and we know that it will be one that Nthando and her sister will never forget.”

Dreams is a South African tour operator that first opened its doors in 2003 and offers a travel service which encompasses flights, transfers, accommodation, tours and activities.

“I am very passionate about empowering women and when I come back from my trip I plan to implement this through many initiatives, so people can look out for that,” Kunene concluded.
