The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced that its long-standing Ward 93 councillor, Annette Deppe, has been assigned as the party’s Ward 132 councillor to contest the upcoming local government elections.
The new Ward 132 incorporates part of the previously demarcated Ward 93 and Ward 112.
“It has been a privilege for me to serve the communities of Ward 93, and I am honoured and humbled to have been asked to move into the new Ward 132,” said Deppe.
“This new ward borders the R55 to the west and the Ben Schoeman Highway in Halfway Gardens to the east… A number of wards in the greater Joburg Metropolitan Council have been redemarcated and boundaries changed since the last local government elections to better represent the communities in the area.
“Ten years ago, when I was first elected as a councillor in the area, Ward 93 incorporated all the Ward 112 suburbs included in the new Ward 132. In 2011, Ward 112 was carved out of Ward 93 and now, almost six years later, I am pleased to be reconnecting with many of the residents and friends I served in the past.”
Ward 132 includes: Waterfall Hills, Waterfall Village, Waterfall Equestrian Estate, Waterfall Country Estate, Barbeque Downs, Kyalami Glen, Kyalami Estates, Kyalami Commercial Park, Leeuwkop Prison, Vorna Valley, Halfway Gardens, Crowthorne and Carlswald.
