Book launch in celebration of fabulous women

FOURWAYS - Author and award-winning South African businesswoman, Pontsho Manzi, launched Sisterhood Charter, a book she wrote in commemoration of International Women's Day on 8 March.

In keeping with her women unity and empowerment message and purpose, the author of the well-known Diary for Fabulous You and editor-in-chief of Fabulous Woman magazine, has written a book that explores the dynamics and causes of the often-touchy relationships between women while celebrating behaviour which enhances ethical womanhood.

When writing her book, the Fourways resident drew on experiences she gained from years of dealing with many women on issues that seemingly derail the purpose of women all over the world. “I believe that God created the Sisterhood Charter book to be a concept that is premised on women who love, support, uplift, encourage, empower, motivate and celebrate one another,” Manzi said.

Manzi expressed that her first book was an attempt to unravel the problems which cause great conflict in relationships between women and do a disservice to women’s advancement, as well as offer suggestions on what women can do to eliminate this scourge.

The Sisterhood Charter also touches on fostering a spirit of sisterhood and a sense of common purpose among women, and the need for each woman to deliberately choose to be a sister’s keeper in all situations, while holding themselves accountable for their own behaviour.

“If a woman is comfortable with who she is and her unique purpose, the temptation to hurt or compete with another person, let alone another woman, becomes a futile exploit,” Manzi said.

The book will be available in bookstores nationwide from 31 March.
