Century Racing finish strong at Dakar

FOURWAYS – The Riversands Incubation Hub, a large-scale black business incubator established in 2014 through a partnership between Century Property Developments and The Jobs Fund, has saluted the two Century Racing teams for their successful 2016 Dakar Rally.

Century Racing, the South African privateer mavericks in the 2016 Dakar Challenge, entered two teams in the 2016 Dakar Rally with two custom-built vehicles, both called the CR5s.

Entrepreneurial spirit, years of research and development and lots of guts saw the teams scoop first and third place finishes in the petrol two-wheel drive category. The high-tech, custom-built rally cars stood the test against factory teams which are known for their impressive support infrastructure.

Mark Corbett, with navigator Juan Mohr, had a strong start and moved from 31st position overall and slowly clawed their way up to 17th position.

The second team, with driver Colin Matthews and navigator Rodney Burke, finished in 37th position overall.
