Cluny Farm swimmers receive medals

MIDRAND - A swimming team from Cluny Farm recently received medals at a swimming gala held at Ellis Park Swimming Pool in Johannesburg.

Swimmers of the Cluny Farm swimming team receive medals at a recent swimming gala.

Candice Janse Van Rensburg of Debbie Dolphins Swimming School said the swimmers participate in monthly developmental galas and take part in competitions every third month.

Van Rensburg said, “At this event, the swimmers received medals. The Cluny Farm swimming team did well, they are taught to swim by Cindy and Estelle Barnard.”

Swimming results and medals received for each swimmer in different strokes include:

Adele Hendrichsen received three gold medals and one silver medal
Andrea Schneider received three silver medals and one bronze medal
Johan du Plessis received one bronze medal and came in 4th place in his respective race
Dawn Smith received one silver medal and came in 6th and 4th place in her respective race
Russel Shepstone received one silver and one bronze medal and came in 4th place in his respective race
Gaynor Murray received one gold and two silver medals
Darren Adams came in 6th and 7th place in his respective races
Gail Higginson came in 6th place in her respective race
Warren Mitchell received one silver medal.
