Hail storm damages nursery and cafe

BROADACRES – The Purple Tulip Nursery and Green Garden Café was left with damages of more than R300 000 after a violent hail storm hit on 16 November.

Monica Bolsover, owner of the nursery said the storm smashed down all their poles and roofs, damaging plants, signs, netting, security cameras, electric fencing, a green house and buildings.

“An intense black cloud gathered over the nursery as we were locking up that evening. Looking back at the security cameras we could not believe the storm. It was a dense black cloud that swept in and left a devastating scene in less than 10 minutes,” she said.
