New top-notch indoor equestrian facility now in operation

KYALAMI - A premiere multi-million rand equine riding facility developed by Stan and Leoni van der Burgh, which is situated in the heart of horse riding country, is now operational.

The Equidome in Kyalami will benefit equestrian fanatics in the greater Gauteng area and according to the facility’s operations manager, Roeleen Bloemhof, it has been a life-long dream of the Van der Burgh’s.

The facility, nestled on the edge of Beaulieu Country Estate, is surrounded by horse trails and borders Blue Hills and Sunlands suburbs. It boasts a top-of-the-range Ecotrack, which is a wax coated surface specially manufactured for indoor applications. The surface is suitable for demanding professional equestrian purposes and is adaptable to several equestrian disciplines.

The facility, which can accommodate up to 1 200 people, comprises nine VIP boxes, a clubhouse, a restaurant and coffee shop.

The indoor arena provides the ultimate all-weather riding experience. The well-lit atmosphere creates a professional environment to both compete and train in. The indoor arena comprises 2400m² of gross floor area and a 70m x 40m clop surface outside warm-up arena.

Guests can enjoy ringside viewing and a well-appointed surround sound system offers equally distributed sound.

A massive 6m x 3m TV screen and TVs in all the selected areas and boxes ensure no one misses out on the action. Permanent camera platforms and cameras form part of this impressive set-up and riders have access to all rounds ridden at the venue.

“Our club wishes to enhance the interest in all disciplines of riding by way of shows, activities, clinics and socials events,” said Bloemhof.
