Metro police give school shoes to pupils

MIDRAND - Thanks to Metro police Region A officers, 14 pupils of Ebomini Primary School in Ivory Park received school shoes.

Sergeant Luthando Lolwana said the initiative was part of the Back To School campaign. He explained that the initiative came about after his colleagues and him who helped school children to cross the road, had no school shoes or a complete school uniform.

Lolwana said they were moved by this and decided to donate school shoes.

Principal Elmon Mhlanga said so many of the children at the school came from needy backgrounds with parents who did not work. He added, “What Metro police has done for these kids will make their learning experience much more comfortable and dignified.”

Ward 77 councillor Titus Mabotja urged children to make education their main focus. “Pursue education so that you can change your circumstances.”

The pupils who received school shoes thanked Metro police for their donation.
