CPF Sector 4 committee re-elected unopposed

WENDYWOOD - The Sandton Community Police Forum Sector 4 management committee was re-elected unopposed at the recent Annual General Meeting.

The meeting took place in Wendywood and saw Andrew McMurray, Werner Smit, Lerato Moche and Margie Wewege retain their spots as the executive committee.

Four more members were also elected to the committee, making it a committee of eight.

Other issues tackled at the meeting included crime trends in the area and the lack of resources, all of which were addressed in the former chairperson’s report.

“We are aware that resources are an issue, but we want to stress that it’s not the police’s fault; they face the same issues of resources and are trying their best,” McMurray said.

He also touched on the lack of participation within the sector, highlighting that more needed to be done to ensure more residents attended meetings and got more involved in the sector.
