Joburg Water instituted an emergency water interruption in Pineslopes, Lonehill, Bryanston and Dainfern from 6am on 14 January in order to conduct infrastructure upgrades.
According to Joburg Water, Fourways Gardens, Witkoppen and extensions, Douglasdale and extensions, Norscot, Craigavon, Magaliessig, Paulshof, Epsom Downs, Bryanston East and West, Country Life park, Solridge, Milhill and Kramerview would also be affected by the emergency shutdown.
The water interruption did not go down well with Fourways residents.
Craigavon resident, Andy Thomas said Joburg Water should have given residents more warning of the interruption considering that 14 January was the first day of school for many.
Joburg Water said the interruption was scheduled to end at 11am on 14 January, however the Lonehill Residents’ Association warned their residents to prepare for a longer outage which would last till at least 4:30pm.
