Paulshof’s sexy house

PAULSHOF - A driveway robbery on Hluhluwe Road in Paulshof has uncovered what residents believe to be a brothel in their neighbourhood.

UPDATE: 15 July, 1pm:

Following Paulshof residents’ concerns that a house on Hluhluwe Road may be operating as a brothel, it has been confirmed that it is a massage parlour.

Paulshof residents claimed that the house on Hluhluwe Road was called Vanilla Sky. A Fourways Review journalist called the number for Vanilla Sky Massage Parlour-Sandton/Paulshof which was listed on the website as Escort South Africa.

A female with an Eastern European accent answered the phone and confirmed that the name of the establishment was indeed Vanilla Sky, and that it was located on Hluhluwe Road, Paulshof. She also confirmed that a robbery did occur on the premises on 14 July.

Councillor Annette Deppe of Ward 93 had previously said the property did not have business rights because of the area’s zoning policy. Vanilla Sky could not confirm that they were operating as anything more than a massage parlour.

A user posted a review of Vanilla Sky on the Escort South Africa forum which read: “Nice suburb, decent house, at the door, was opened by an older shorter woman brunette, not my type, but greeted with a smile and there she was this beatiful (sic) blonde woman, in a beige mini skirt, heels greeted with a kiss and a hug, smelled nice too.” The review went on to say, “…money well spent. I got a nice back massage afterward. I didn’t feel rushed at all. Thank you Vanilla Sky for a sensual fabulous afternoon.”

15 July, 10.30am:

Captain Kym Cloete, head of communications for the Sandton police said on 14 July at about 6pm two men driving a white VW Golf came up behind the complainant, who was driving along Hluhluwe Road, and forced him to enter the driveway of a house. In the driveway, the suspects jumped out of their vehicle and demanded cash from the complainant. They searched him, took the cash he had as well as his jacket and cellphone and then fled the scene.

While the story may seem cut and dry it seems there is more to the infamous house on Hluhluwe Road than meets the eye.

Ward councillor for Ward 93, Annette Deppe is convinced that the house is serving as a brothel. Deppe said the issue had been reported to the police numerous times since last year but nothing has been done yet.

Cloete could not confirm that the house was being investigated. A Hluhluwe Road resident who preferred to remain anonymous said she knew the complainant to be an influential businessman who visited the house often. “I was there when he gave his statement to the police,” she said. “He told them that he was forced to enter the driveway of the house, but actually neighbours saw his car parked in the driveway from 4pm that afternoon.”

The resident said she had seen a number of “foreign looking” women at the house. “As residents we have just had enough of this house and all the trouble to do with it,” the resident said.

Also no business rights. Also many calls to Douglasdale SAPS, and they are still going. Who they harming? Nobody I know of
