4Paws helps two badly injured dogs

FOURWAYS - 4Paws inspectors have rescued two mistreated dogs in two separate incidents. 4Paws is an animal shelter located outside of Diepsloot, on William Nicol Drive.

The first dog pictured was found in the Lion Park squatter camp. 4Paws founder Merinda Brits explained that the dog was badly beaten which had resulted in spinal and neck problems.

The dog has been under treatment at the 4Paws vet and has only recently managed to even stand up.

Brits said, “He really is a special boy and he will need a warm, loving home.”

She explained that the ideal home for this dog would be one where there is someone at home at all times as he will need a lot of patience. As a result of his background he is still quite afraid.

The second dog was found in Diepsloot township where it had been badly injured by another dog. When 4Paws contacted the owner of the dog he decided that he did not want her back. Brits said, “The dog had been bitten by another dog on the side of her head. She is currently at our vet but will need to go to a home environment to recover.” Brits explained that the dog, which is a whippet cross, has a very sweet and gentle nature.

For adoption inquiries contact Merinda Brits at 4Paws animal shelter.
