Dikana began her Instagram post with reflections on her former music achievements before pronouncing that her last LP has gone platinum, an album she released in September last year, hardly 10-months after its debut.

“It was 15 years ago when I started in the music business – 2003, I released my debut album, Soulitary, in Europe. [In] 2006 I released my first album in SA, Life, Love ‘n Music, [In] 2011, my 2nd, Ina Ethe, triple Platinum […] 2013, came my platinum selling DVD, Give ‘n Take,” she wrote.

“Today I received a platinum award for my latest album, Work Of Heart,” the songstress announced.

“Thank you so much for the love and endless support, it’s given me longevity. I always go against the grain, but you always shelter me from the rain. Thank you for loving me,” she further wrote.

Chatting to Gareth Cliff on CliffCentral radio show earlier this year‚ Dikana explained to Cliff that regardless of her accomplishment, she had no interest in fame.

Speaking of the stories her dad would share with her on the music industry‚ Dikana explained that “those stories are still with me‚ those are the stories that make me not feel bad about being the kind of person that I am; the kind of artist that stays out of sight,” she said.

She added she did not feel bad about not being at each and every event.  “I really don’t because those are the type of stories that are still ringing in my ears. These are the kinds of things that happen within the industry,” she added.

Her rise to stardom started in 2011 following the release of her third album Ina Ethe, which was nominated at the 18th South African Music Awards. Her fifth and recent album got her nominated in several categories at the 15th Metro FM Music Awards and 22nd South African Music Awards.
