Simon Cowell will marry Lauren Silverman if it ”feels right”.
The 53-year-old music mogul hinted he might tie the knot with the US socialite, who is pregnant with his first child, at some point in the future, despite bursting out laughing when he was asked if he would ever take the brunette beauty up the aisle.
Speaking in a video clip on entertainment news programme ‘TMZ Live’, he said: ”I’m not ruling anything out in the future. If you asked me a year ago, at my age am I going to have a baby, I probably would have said ‘no’ so you’ve just got to take each day as it comes now.
”Whatever feels right you should do.”
Simon admitted he has ”got used to” the idea of becoming a father despite being initially sceptical, and he is hoping his first child is a boy to carry on his dynasty.
He added: ”Look, these things happen. It was a little bit of a surprise. Then after a couple of days I got used to it and now I like the idea of it.
”If it’s a boy there will be another me on this earth for many more years to come.”
Simon confirmed he had rented a $26,000 luxury flat in Manhattan, New York, for Lauren to live in which has helped her to feel more comfortable during her pregnancy.
While answering the question on the video clip his fellow ‘X Factor’ USA judge Demi Lovato was seen jokingly putting her hands around his neck as he said: ”I did sort out an apartment for her, which she has moved into this weekend and is very happy. She feels more settled now, I think she’s happy, yeah.”
Meanwhile, Amanda Holden, Simon’s fellow judge on talent show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, has tipped her friend to tie the knot with Lauren and admits she ”really likes” the brunette star.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards at the Dorchester Hotel in central London on Monday night (09.09.13), she told BANG Showbiz: ”I’ll probably say yes because I never thought he’d ever have a baby and never thought he’d get married so I’ll say yes. I really like Lauren – she’s fabulous.”
