Minnie Dlamini, who plays rebellious university tomboy Nosipho Bogatsu in the show, was rocked by the passing of both her beloved grandmother and grandfather, who both died in the space of two days last week.
Actress and show producer Connie Ferguson – who portrays the role of widow and devoted mother Mavis Mabaso – at the start of last week travelled to Botswana to mourn the death of her mother, who passed away a few days earlier.
Sharing her sadness with her Twitter followers, she wrote: “It doesn’t matter how old u r or how strong u think u r, NOTHING can prepare u 4 the loss of a parent!? RIP the most AWSOME woman in my life! My mother, my ANGEL…”
Speaking to the Daily Sun, Connie’s friend and former ‘Generations’ co-star Sophie Ndaba said of the actress’ mother, Margaret Masilo: “She was not only a mum to Connie, but a mum to many of us, a fantastic woman we all adored.”
On top of all this sadness, Gail Mabalane, known as high-class escort Vicky Mofokeng in the series, buried her father last week.
The distraught actress opened up about her sadness on Twitter, saying: “Nothing in the world could’ve prepared me for this moment… Respect; Salute; Show Love; Appreciate… Tomorrow is Not Promised #DaddysGirl.”
Speaking to the publication, ‘Rockville’ publicist Bongiwe Potelwa said: “We’ve heard about the passing of their family member and it’s sad. We are with them.”
“Gail’s manager called us to ask for some time because she’s taking it very hard. We hope the fans and supporters of Rockville will continue their support.”
