The couple also has a seven-month-old baby girl.
Khumalo was among people who were allegedly threatened when Meyiwa was shot on October 26 during a robbery at her family home in Vosloorus on the East Rand.
“I have not been talking to the media, but I have decided to give my fans an idea of what I went through during that difficult time,” Khumalo told The Citizen on Sunday.

Shortly after the passing of Meyiwa, Khumalo made her first appearance at the Feather Awards in Johannesburg earlier this month.
Following her appearance at the awards, she has been attending live music shows and recently performed her Asinne song live on Live AMP on SABC 1.
At the end of October a suspect was arrested in connection with Meyiwa’s murder.
However, November 11, charges against Zanokuhle Mbatha were officially withdrawn.
