Comedian and actor Kenneth Nkosi reportedly spent Wednesday night in prison after handing himself over to the Joburg Central Police Station. Police reportedly confirmed that the actor was expected to appear in the Joburg Magistrates’ Court on charges of assault, reported the Daily Sun.
Twitter user @PulyBeast, a friend of the victim, alleged on Monday that the Paradise Stop and Mad Buddies star assaulted her friend because she “refused to give him attention” at BlackAnt Lounge in Newtown on Friday.
“He then followed her into the ladies restrooms… and continued violating her. Busted her lip in the establishment. Followed her to the bathroom to beat her up some more, she even had to plead with him that she’d like to pee first and then he can finish her off. Because he wouldn’t stop. He did this in front of his two girlfriends he arrived with,” alleged @PulyBeast.
She further posted a video of the actor smoking and responding “angifuni” to a woman who was begging for her phone back after he allegedly took it from her.
The woman said her friend opened a case against the actor following the alleged incident.
“Thank you to everyone who is concerned. We’ve opened a case and we are not withdrawing it. She’s so scared, but I’ve told her that we all got her, and she needs to stand up for herself and fight back and this is the only way.”
Joburg police spokesperson Captain Xoli Mbele reportedly confirmed to IOL that a 26-year-old woman had opened a case of common assault against Nkosi. Investigations were ongoing.
Talent agent Moonyeenn Lee told the publication they could not share details about Nkosi or his lawyer.
