Waterberg Region Pony Club members excels

The Waterberg Branch of the South African Pony Club held their E-Efficiency test on Sunday 27 February at Sanadors Stables in Bela-Bela.

The Pony Club is an international youth organization that helps to develop the equestrian sport by encouraging young people to have fun whilst learning to ride and to take good care of their ponies and horses. The club also encourages young people to enjoy a variety of sports associated with horses and provides instruction in horse riding and horse care.

Their holistic focus means that the Pony Club also develops the character of their members, by promoting sportsmanship, respect for animals and people, self-discipline, and strength of character.

The South African Pony Club is the foundation of countless sports riders in our country. The excellent groundwork that the SAPC strives to put in place has formed a firm footing for many top riders and instructors in this country, and around the world.

The riders of session 2 who completed the E-Efficiency test successfully: Celia Bosch (19) on Shango, Mia Giannacopoulos (9) on Delco, Melinke Grobler (9) on DelaRey and Waldo Grobler (11) on Miyoko. The riding instructor and judge Nolene Law is with them.

Riders or interested individuals from the Waterberg area can all register to be a part of the Waterberg Branch as the Pony Club is not affiliated with any riding schools.

There are monthly events happening between both riding schools that currently have riders registered with the Waterberg Branch, which is Sanadors Stables in Bela-Bela and Kavalier Equestrian Centre in Mookgophong.

Nolene Law is the chairperson for the Waterberg Branch and she used to be an outstanding Pony Club member herself, completing her B Postlum in 2016 after which she became a Pony Club Assessor.

The riders of the 3rd session who did their E-Efficiency test are Luna Pretorius (5) on Delco and Lerizeme Pretorius (21) on Shango.

Law is also an EQUASA Module 5 qualified instructor and a Western Mounted Games senior judge. Her achievements include Showjumping in 1m classes and Novice Dressage, both on a provincial level.

The riders who attended the event were divided into three sessions, all riders passed the E-Efficiency exam successfully.
