Medals galore for dancers
Students of the Damasa Dance School in Thabazimbi excelled on Saturday 12 September at the national championships held in Centurion.
The dancers returned after competing in the South African Dance School Championships with no less than seven gold medals and two silver.
Competitors performed before a panel of two judges during the competition held in sessions with five dancers competing in each session.
The competition was live-streamed for the benefit of supporters and was presented within the limitations as regu- lated by the Covid-19-pandemic.
This competition was the first performance after the strict regulations. The dancers took the opportunity to shine and made the Damasa Dance School proud.
Their coach, Dajana Rijetkovic, mentioned to The Post that she is very proud as the students showed a vast improvement on last year’s results.
This was a difficult year for performing arts, yet they excelled in the competition, she said.
