The National First Division (NFD) league GladAfrica Championship will take a breather this forthcoming weekend, as part of the FIFA international break which started on Monday, 11 November and expected to stretch until Tuesday, 19 November.

Uthongathi FC remains at the top of the league log standings, after a 2-1 victory against Cape Umoya United FC last Thursday.

The log leaders are now five points clear of the second-placed JDR Stars FC.

JDR Stars FC also continued with its winning streak last weekend, when the team from Soshanguve defeated Moroka Swallows FC (10) 2-1 at Dobsonville Stadium.

Former ABSA Premiership team Free State Stars FC (12) played to 2-all stalemate with the newly-promoted Steenberg United FC (6).

Nebdank Cup reigning champions, TS Galaxy FC (11), shared the spoils with tail-enders Royal Eagles FC, following a hard-fought 2-all draw.

Limpopo side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (5) was narrowly beaten 1-0 by TS Sporting FC.

The fifteenth-placed Jomo Cosmos FC (15) and Mbombela United FC (14) were entangled in a tough league encounter, where the two had to share a point each, after playing to a 0-all.

All fixtures for the GladAfrica Championship will resume on Saturday, 23 October, after the international break.

South Africa travelled to Ghana this week, and was also scheduled to host Sudan on Sunday, 17 November, as part of the Afcon qualifiers.
