Five Hleketani Primary School athletes waiting for new date

Five of Bela-Bela’s Hleketani Primary School athletes are keenly awaiting the new date for the Waterberg leg of the inter-schools athletics meeting.

The contest, initially scheduled to be staged in Mokopane on Saturday 17 August, has since been postponed, with the new date to be unveiled in due course.

The organisers’ hand was forced by the political unrest in Mokopane in recent weeks.

According to Frans Sape Mabule, the Hleketani Primary School sports committee official, the five were raring to go.

The five are namely Emmah Junior Phiri (13), Amogelang Urgent Dolo (14), Amogelang Glad Shabangu (10), Mpho Solly Mabunda (12) and Thapelo Prince Maswanganyi (11).
