A mouth-watering first prize of R1-million beckons for Bela-Bela Soccer Academy and scores of other teams taking part in the annual Kay Motsepe Schools Cup.

A mouth-watering first prize of R1-million beckons for Bela-Bela Soccer Academy and scores of other teams taking part in the annual Kay Motsepe Schools Cup.

The academy booked a place into the cluster stages of the tournament after beating Vingerkraal High School 3-0 in the finals.

In the first match Bela-Bela Soccer Academy walloped Maope High School 5-0.

Maope High School also got a hiding from Vingerkraal High School, who sailed over the locals at a 3-0 score-line.

In 2017, the academy youngsters advanced to the provincial leg of the Kay Motsepe Schools Cup, only to be sent packing at that level.

The Kay Motsepe Schools Cup is sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation and Sanlam.

The tournament is open to all high schools within South Africa and open to teams with learners between the ages 16 and 19.

The winners will walk-away with R1 Million, the other three teams that will finish in the top four will bag R600 000 (2nd place), R500 000 (3rd) and R400 000 (4th).
