Another Bela-Bela Mayoral Fun Run on the cards in August

Following a successful mayoral fun run which was held on Saturday 1 June at Sunfa Stadium, Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni has decided to host another leg of the same event during in the month of August.

The exact date and other details were to be unveiled in the near future.

Bela-Bela municipal spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, said the mayor has in actual fact decided to stage the event three times a year.

Once again he said finer details would emerge going forward.

“We would like to thank everyone who took part in the fun run over the past weekend. It shows indeed that people are now conscious about a healthy lifestyle, and we have decided that the fun
run will take place every three months.” He said.

Mosito said future plans will open up the day of fun to other activities, so as to attract a variety of interests.

The winners in the 8km male category were Martin Nkwe, with police officer Peter Kgabo the runner-up, and Basiame Khumalo coming up third.

The 8 km event for women was won by Kgothalo Mabotja, with Maria Sebolao the runner-up.

Sello Maluleka won the 5 km event, with Tshegofatso Kgomo taking second position, and Pretorius Nkwe occupying third position.

Promise Ndlovu won the 5 km event for women, with Lunda Mabunda the runner-up.

Forever Resorts, Shilajoe Optometrists, Bela-Bela Super Spar, Hollywood Bets and NTI College were the sponsors.
