Bela-Bela’s Boikie “Run-Boikie-Run” Monareng is scheduled to lead a gruelling cycle tour starting in Beit-Bridge, ending in Bela-Bela.

The 533 km cycle tour is aimed at raising funds for the Run-Boikie-Run Sports Development initiative, with an eye on participation in the Comrades Marathon on Sunday 9 June.

The Comrades this year is an uphill event from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

The Beit Bridge cycle event was scheduled to start on Tuesday 28 May, involving 40 cyclists drawn from parts of the Limpopo cycling community.

The cycling tour has been compartmentalized into three phases, with pedals being kicked into action in Beit Bridge as early as 04:30.

The cyclists were expected to arrive in Musina at around 18:00 the same day, for a sleepover.

At the crack of dawn the next day the cyclists were scheduled to pedal their way from Musina and were expected to arrive in the Limpopo capital of Polokwane at around 18:00, for another
sleepover.

The cyclists would then leave Polokwane in the early hours of Thursday 30 May, and were expected to arrive in Bela-Bela mid-afternoon.
