Polokwane endurance cyclist Lefa Moeketsi from the Polokwane township of Seshego is set to make his debut at the Liberty Waterberg Encounter mountain-bike race, taking place in Bela-Bela from Friday 7 June to Sunday 9 June.

Moeketsi will join his homeboys Willie Ledwaba, Reggie Galane and Benny Galane, who take part in the endurance event for the second year running.

The spokesperson for the organisers, Elzaan van Eeden, said the three-day race would incorporate routes in the Sondela Nature Reserve and the Elements Private Golf Reserve.

She said the Watreberg leg of the race is the third event in the Liberty Encounter series, following the TransCape MTB race in February and the Winelands Encounter in April.

The new entrant Moeketsi and the rest of the bikers would be offered the opportunity to ride through some typical bushveld farms and view the abundance of wildlife.
