Inter-schools showdown kicks off

Learners from around Bela-Bela on Wedneday 10 April kicked off the annual inter-school sports and games contest.

Both the local Sunfa Stadium and Bela-Bela High School Stadium were the venues for various soccer match-ups, while the girls did it for themselves in netball at the Bela-Bela Community Hall.

Others went toe-to-toe in a game of chess at Mmamakwa Primary School.

According to Sekatudi Kgwebane, the Warmbaths Circuit School Sports chairperson, the games are still at circuit preliminary levels.

At the end of the preliminary stages, various teams from the sporting codes would be selected to represent the Warmbaths Circuit School Sports at cluster level, competing against teams from
across the Waterberg district.

The broader sporting codes include soccer, rugby, chess, netball, and volleyball and drie-stokkies.
