The Sunday Social Club collective of Bela-Bela conttinued with its charity drive, visiting upwards of 50 households on Sunday 20 January.
The Sunday Social Club collective of Bela-Bela continued with its charity drive, visiting upwards of 50 households on Sunday 20 January.
Working with officials a from the SAPS and Department of Social Development, the club’s members went on an audit of challenges faced by especially school-going children.
Some of the issues identified were that many parents could not access social grants because of lack of proper documentation and information.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) was to be engaged in this regard.
Substance and alcohol abuse also emerged as a burning issue, according to Sunday Social Club activist, Sello Rathokolo.
He said of the stakeholders, the Bela-Bela Local Municipality had still to come to the party.
