Cup at advanced stage

Preparations for Bela-Bela’s Mayor’s Cup were steaming ahead, with the first citizen’s office working on the final logistics.

Bela-Bela Local Football Association (LFA) manager, Andrew Mafafo, said the mayor’s office was expected to report back on final logistics, such as the availability of the trophy and medals, shortly.

Three local teams were scheduled to battle it out for the honours, namely Spa Park Sporting FC , Swagger Boys FC and Platinum Stars FC.

Swagger Boys FC was scheduled to contest the promotional playoffs for a spot in the higher Waterberg SAB Regional League, kicking off on Saturday 22 September.

The playoffs features teams which came out runners-up in their respective LFAs, drawn from the Waterberg towns of Modmolle, Bela-Bela, Vaalwater and Mokopane.

Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni’s spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, said the authorities were looking forward to a successful Mayor’s Cup.
