The second edition of the Kaone Kaone under-15 Soccer Tournament was scheduled for Vaalwater’s Tigers Grounds on Saturday 28 July.

The second edition of the Kaone Kaone under-15 Soccer Tournament was scheduled for Vaalwater’s Tigers Grounds on Saturday 28 July.

A total of eight local teams were expected to battle it out for the trophy, and other prizes.

The director of the community-based Kaone Kaone Foundation, Daniel Monyeki, said the decision to sponsor the tournament was inspired by the commitment to plough back to local youngsters.

“This tournament started in 2017 and the objective to stage it annually. We want to see it growing bigger and bigger every year,” Monyeki said.

He said the Kaone Kaone Foundation was sourcing financial support from Kaone Kaone Holdings, which continued to create job opportunities through small businesses, among these a carwash and tent renting.

The outright winner was poised to be awarded with a trophy and 18 gold medals, with the runners-up taking home a trophy and 18 silver medals.

There will also be prizes for best player of the tournament and leading goal scorer.

The tournament also aimed to recognise best-performing players in terms of the man-of-the-match prize.
