Bela-Bela High School Stadium would be the venue for a masters’ soccer tournament featuring players from as far afield as Mpumalanga.

The Namibian Masters FC from Vingerkraal were also fixtured to play.

The team’s name was inspired by the fact that many of the players were originally nationals or of Namibian descent.

Mpumalanga Masters FC was expected to arrive all the way from the village of Seabe in the province of the rising sun.

According to the tournament co-ordinator, Ellien Hudson, the matches were scheduled to take place at Bela-Bela High School Stadium on Saturday 21 July, as part of the 100th birthday commemoration of the late former President Nelson Mandela.

Hudson is better known as the lady who occupies pride of place on the technical staff of the Waterberg SAB Regional League campaigners, Bela-Bela Diesel ‘n Dust FC.

“We are hosting the tournament as part of the celebration to honour Madiba,” she said.

The games were scheduled to kick off at 09:00, spiced up with arts and culture entertainment.

The complete line-up of teams are Mpumalanga Masters FC, Vingerkraal Masters FC, Bela-Bela Masters FC , Spa Park Masters FC and Namibian Masters FC.

The Bela-Bela Local Council and municipality were expected to grace the occasion.
