Trickle of clubs show interest in Bela-Bela LFA

At least two soccer teams playing informal soccer have shown interest in throwing their lot with the Bela-Bela Local Football Association (LFA).

At least two soccer teams playing informal soccer have shown interest in throwing their lot with the Bela-Bela Local Football Association (LFA).

League manager, Andrew Mafafo, said on Tuesday 26 June that one of the twosome was the B team of Opleft FC.

The senior team campaigns in the Waterberg SAB Regional League.

The other unnamed team, he said, hailed from the informal settlement of Tsakane.

Mafafo said the current season of the Bela-Bela LFA was on the final straight, with teams left with one fixture each.

Bela-Bela Soccer Academy remained at the top of the standings, almost certainly poised for promotion into the higher ranks.

Opleft FC and the unnamed team from Tsakane responded to a clarion call made by Mafafo through the pages of The BEAT in the last edition, calling on teams playing informal soccer to consider
being part of the Bela-Bela LFA.

At the time the league manager said the association could accommodate 10 additional teams to its existing 10 affiliates.

If the total of 10 clubs do join in, then the association would double up its ranks to 20 registered clubs.

To register as part of the Bela-Bela Local Football Association, clubs were being advised to contact Mafafo on 076 235 9698.
