Modimolle’s La Masia FC cheered up its supporters by winning the Modimolle/Mookgophong LFA Stream A cup, on Sunday 3 June.

The team went all out to ensure that they salvage the trophy on offer, after losing out on the league title, ending at an otherwise impressive third position.

The league was won by Liverpool FC, after it was confirmed as the league champions in Stream A of the Modimolle/Mookgophong LFA.

On Sunday La Masia FC defeated Tornado FC 3-0 at the Ephraim Mogale Stadium to lift the trophy.

La Masia FC head coach, Tshepo Selamolela, said his boys deserved the gold medals and the trophy, after working hard throughout the season.

“Once we are done celebrating, we shift our focus back to training. Our eyes will now be fixed on the Modimolle Mayor’s Cup,” he said.

Modimolle/Mookgophong Local Football Association chairperson, Hlupi Lehong, thanked all the 10 participating teams, and further congratulated the La Masia FC.

On the other hand, the LFA has started the Modimolle/Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup elimination rounds in Modimolle, with the same expected for Mookgophong and Vaalwater shortly.
