Bela-Bela church hosting marathon on World Aids Day

The Uniting reformed church of Southern Africa (URCSA) in Bela-Bela will be hosting its first ever Fun Run on Saturday 1 December in the Bela-Bela township to commemorate World Aids Day.

The funds generated from this event will be allocated to a church building project.

Athletes are invited to participate in the 5 km or 10 km run.

The start and the finish line will be at the URSCA Bela-Bela in Sekombane Street. The route will mainly take place in Mabunda Street since there is less traffic and water points will be located along the route.

All athletes will receive a medal after completion of the races.

Prizes are waiting for the first three athletes in the 5 km and 10 km races for both men and woman.

The 10 km event will commence at 07:00 and the entry fee is R30. The 5 km race will start at 07:15 and the entry fee is R50, said the organizers.

Entries will be done on Friday 30 November between 12:00 and 19:00 and between 05:00 to 06:50 on the day of the event at the URSCA in Sekombane Street.

According to the organizers, participants are encouraged to wear light colour clothing and support this meritorious event in great numbers. For enquiries phone the organizers on tel. 073 771 9894 or 076 028 6469.
