Letter: What a pleasant surprise

One is taken by surprise if excellent service is rendered.

Mariette Nicholson, Modimolle, writes:

In an environment where we have become accustomed to poor service delivery, one is taken by surprise if excellent service is rendered.

I want to compliment Thomas Phoshoko of the Department of Home Affairs in Modimolle on his excellent client service.

Towards the end of 2021, I made a mistake on the online passport application of my son. It was really challenging to sort out the problem.

After many phone calls to Head Office (in Pretoria), I was losing faith that the mistake would be rectified.

As a last resort, I visited the Home Affairs office in Modimolle and was assisted by the very professional Thomas who processed the application and made the changes within one week.

He updated me daily on the progress of the application. The passport was issued shortly thereafter.

Once more, I want to thank Thomas for his professional and friendly attitude. I salute you.

You are most definitely an asset to Modimolle’s Home Affairs office.
