I recently confirmed an appointment to visit Spec Savers in Modimolle.
On arrival I was met by LJ van Nieuwenhuizen, the optometrist. A truly professional gentleman. I then made the request for some bifocal lenses.
The eye tests were completed with great care and I returned home to eagerly await the delivery of my new spectacles.
Finally, they arrived and were fitted by the ever-so-professional optometrist. After some time and with added perseverance I had to admit I could not get used to my new bifocal lenses.
With some concern, I made another appointment at Spec Savers and was again attended to by the same optometrist.
He listened to my concern and advised me to get new reading glasses and an additional pair of glasses for driving.
With bated breath, I queried the amount due. But, with a smile on his face, he replied that the service was on the house.
Whether the pro bono service on his behalf had anything to do with my seniority or appearance, I can’t tell.
But I can talk and thank him for the generosity bestowed on me. My regards to your friendly staff as well.
